Because of my work as a geoinformatics specialist and my likely innate interest in technology, I also apply the knowledge I’ve gained in this field to app development.
Here you’ll find mobile apps I’ve developed, available for free
download and use. These apps are free of ads or any “data
collection features” and have been programmed to the best of my
knowledge and belief.

“Ask Opa” is a mobile app that features a special chatbot named “Opa.”
He is programmed to be a friendly, empathetic, somewhat
philosophical, and positive character—one who is also capable
of learning. He has interests such as nature, the mountains,
his garden, social engagement, helping others, music, art,
handpans, jazz, good food, sustainability, cooking...and every
now and then, he also enjoys a cookie.
Users of this app can chat with Grandpa in various languages
and can change the language at any time and as often as they
like.
Conversations with Grandpa are saved as memories—and can be
resumed at any time. Of course, these can also be exported,
copied, or deleted.
Any users who have suggestions regarding the further
development of Grandpa’s character (what should Grandpa pay
more attention to, what doesn’t Grandpa do so well, etc.) are
cordially invited to send them to mazop@gmx.at.
“Ask Opa” is currently still a so-called release candidate—that is, a version that has not yet been officially released or made available in app stores. The goal is to thoroughly test the Opa character in order to improve it further. But from a technical standpoint, this version of the app works flawlessly, at least on Android.
An App Version for Apple/iPhone will be available soon.
Currently, there is only an Android version.
